After leaving its fans without any updates for over a month, the Vikings lacrosse website is updated with lots of news to be delivered to eager ears.
Going back to Spring break, the Viks travelled out to St. Paul, Minnesota where they faced the very talented teams of St. Johns University, St. Thomas University and Oakland college. The first game of the series ended in a loss to St. Johns. The Vikings were down 6-1 at the half but picked up their game up and fought back in the second half. However, the effort was not enough and the Viks lost the game 8-6. The next day pitted Western against Oakland College where the Vikings proved to be the dominant team, coming away with a win, 11-5. The last game of the trip, against national powerhouse and current defending national champions St. Thomas, resulted the Vikings being handed crushing defeat, 12-3.
After the trip, Western went for two weeks without any games before starting their conference schedule on Saturday, April 10 with a double header weekend against Whitman College and Central Washington University. The two week break proved to be helpful, allowing the team to rest up for the games and the Viks went on to get Ws against both teams, beating Whitman 14-10 and Central 15-10. The following weekend, on April 17, the Viks travelled down to do battle with Pacific Lutheran University, and returned to Bellingham with a win, 11-4.
The Viks record currently stands at 8 wins 5 losses, with a conference schedule of 3 wins and 0 losses. This puts the team in the 1st seed spot going into the PNCLL conference championship, taking place this weekend in Bend, Oregon. The Vikings will face the Southern Oregon Raiders in the semis on Saturday. An update on the outcome of that game will be provided that evening.

Yesterday, the Vikings came out against the Western Oregon Wolves looking strong and won the game, 17-12. Nobody currently on the team had ever beaten WOU and the seniors were especially happy with the victory. The win improves the Viks record to 4-3.
The Vikings now have a two week break from games before flying out to Minnesota over Spring Break. The team will practice hard before facing tough competition in St. Thomas, St. Johns, and Oakland University. Next home game is April 10 against Whitman College.

After the heartbreaking losses in Las Vegas, the Vikings bounced back last weekend, beating Southern Oregon 11-4 and blanking Willamette 17-0. The Viks record now stands at 3-3.
Tomorrow, Saturday March 6, the team takes on conference rivals Western Oregon University. There is a lot of history in this matchup and it's sure to be a hard fought game. Come out and support your Vikings at 1:00 PM on the Rec Center turf field!

Though they fought hard in both games, the Viks went 0-2 in the Las Vegas Full House Tournament. This weekend they travel to Oregon to face Southern Oregon University and Willamette College.
Mark your calendars! The Vikings are coming home to play on Saturday March 6, hosting Western Oregon University at 1:00. Be there to witness the epic battle!

February 10, 2010 The Vikings suffered a bitter defeat at the hands of Simon Fraser last weekend, losing 18-3. Next game is on February 19th in Las Vegas at the MCLA Vegas Full House Face Off, where Western will take on Utah Valley. For more information on the tournament, click HERE.

WWU vs UVic @ University of Victoria November 7th!
The Western Washington University Men's lacrosse team will be traveling to Victoria, BC to take on the Vikes of UVic. There Western will also compete against teams from Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The team will be departing Saturday November 7th and spending the night in Victoria and returning home on the 8th.

All players who would like to attend the Victoria trip in the fall must have either a PASSPORT of an ENHANCED DRIVERS LICENSE in order to cross the border. The trip is scheduled for November 7, 2009. Final bookings will be made two weeks before the event.
Please get a hold of all that are interested in coming out in the fall and inform them of this.
ALSO make sure to schedule your class schedules aroung the following times Tuesday and Thursday 11-12pm or Monday though Friday 1-2pm for team lifting in the Parberry Strength and Conditioning Center. The main team lifts are on Tuesday and Thursday but if you can not make those sessions additional sessions are available from 1-2pm Monday through Friday.
INTRODUCTORY TEAM MEETING WILL BE SEPTEMBER 24th 7:00PM in the AIC (Nice new building located right across from the rec center)
